This is a Fender J Mascis Telecaster in Bottle Rocket Blue Flake finish. Made in Mexico in 2021, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 21 Jumbo fret Maple fingerboard. This guitar is equipped with Chrome hardware including 3-Saddle Vintage-Style Topload Tele bridge with Barrel Brass Saddles and a set of Vintage-Style Split post tuning machines. The pickups featured are a pair of Fender J Mascis Custom ’58 Tele single-coils, these are wired to a 3-way selector switch, master volume and a master tone control.
The Maple neck is carved into a ‘C’ profile, which provides a comfortable playing surface in all registers. The 9.5” fingerboard radius offers a suitably vintage feel, whilst still allowing for more modern playing techniques. This is paired with Jumbo size frets, which enhance vibrato and string bending techniques. The familiar lines of the Telecaster body feel great in the arms, and the traditional control layout means that you can really focus on your playing.
The Fender J Mascis Custom ’58 Tele single-coil pickups provide the classic Telecaster tones that have been a staple of modern music for decades. There is plenty of roundness and warmth in the neck, with this particular example having plenty of trebly ‘Tele Twang’ in the bridge. Clean sounds are glassy and shimmering, whilst driving the amp offers some searing crunch tones. The familiar Telecaster control layout offers comprehensive control of your sound right on the guitar. Perfect for a wide range of styles from country to blues, this guitar offers authentic Telecaster tones at an affordable price.
